Paul Koda papers, 1914-2001.

Appraisals/valuations and authentications of pieces of furniture belonging to various owners and museums (including Connecticut Historical Society and Wadsworth Atheneum), written by a Hartford, Connecticut, furniture maker, teacher and restoration expert. Valuations are complemented by scanned images of original photographs, drawings, templates and patterns; the originals are in the Graphics Department. Also includes personal and professional correspondence, business records, auction catalogs, journals, shop notes, writing tablets and notebooks that serve in part as diaries, and notes from lectures and talks he delivered. An important part of the collection consists of research notes on Connecticut cabinetmaker Eliphalet Chapin.
